Kilimanjaro Video Diary

A lot of people have been asking me about my Kilimanjaro trip and although initially I had started writing a diary of the events, I feel pictures speak louder than words and videos are basically like shouting into a microphone, so here I want to share with you the video of my kilimanjaro hike,
Enjoy and leave a comment please 🙂

Some facts about Kilimanjaro,
Kilimanjaro is the world’s tallest free standing mountain, with its highest peak at 3985 meters above sea level.

Kilimanjaro, with its three volcanic cones, Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira, is an inactive stratovolcano in north-eastern Tanzania.

I climbed it with my brother 🙂

  • Rogeema says:

Wow, awesome. Kilimanjaro is always so inspiring.

When I was at campus, one of my lecturers decided on his 75th birthday that he wanted to climb Kili, and he has Parkinson's disease! He successfully did the climb the following year, at 76! So that just means that I also gotta do it one day, LoL

Can't believe you actually took the time to still take videos when you guys were already planting so much…

    Hakuna Matata 🙂

    • Muneer says:

Thanks for sharing that Rogeema, wow that is amazing and super inspiring, wow 76!
Physically i think anyone could do it with a tiny bit of training, the only thing you have to do is acclimatize so basically take your time going up hill to let your body adjust to the low oxygen.
Anyhow if you ever wanted to do something like that, you know i am there to help 🙂
      Hakuna matata!

  • Nabs says:

It is 5,985m above sea level, not 3,985m

    Hi Muneer,

Brilliant Video of your journey mate! 🙂

I got a preview of your link from Nabs……it's great to get an insight to your adventure as were going to Kili in 2 weeks and its a 1st for me… Well done, despite being sick you pulled through, you're both an inspiration 🙂

    Neat

    • Muneer says:

Anita thanks so much for your comment, glad you liked the video and
hopefully it was insightful to your trip, good luck in Kili and let me know
if you want any tips etc,
      M

  • Tony says:

Great video guys, well done! But Nabs, I'm a little disappointed. All that time, and you didn't get any footage of Muneer running off into the trees clutching a loo roll with a worried expression on his face!! Wasted opportunities man, wasted opportunities!! Hee hee…

    • Muneer says:

      Tony,
at the end of the day, i was always going to be the one editing the video,
so even if he did film it, luckily he has no clue how to take the video of
the video camera 🙂 so footage of that sort would have been lost forever.

  • Derick Yee says:

I love it man! I love it at the end when they said Hakuna matata.. I thought it was a made up word.. LOL.

We miss you guys man! Hope you guys are well..

    • Muneer says:

      Derick,
haha, glad you liked the video man, yes hakuna matata is a real phrase and
that is the original song! Funnily enough it does mean no worries – but erm
“the for the rest of your days” part is a disney conspiracy haha 🙂
Anyhow miss you guys too, thanks for the comment and the love 🙂

  • kerry13 says:

Amazing Stuff Muneer and Nabs!! Congratulations!
Nothing will ever justify to others how difficult it is without doing it themselves.

  • At least seven larger mammal species have been recorded above the tree line: Kilimanjaro tree hyrax, grey duiker, red duiker, eland, bushbuck, buffalo and elephants.

  • Sherry says:

Congrats on your successful climb! You are truly a great guy. I though only Mt Everest is the tallest mountain to climb for an adventure.
